Website or Application Design
The final project will be a software application of original design and concept that incorporates all you have learned thus far in the course. Suggestions include: as minisite, a game, a catalog, educational software, documentary, artist/band promotional CD…
The software should include the following features:
- Absolute minimum of 25 nodes
- Content: graphics, images, sounds, and a video or Flash animation
- A main menu or master screen with multiple exit-points
- The ability to exit the software from most any screen
- all clickable items should include a rollover behavior
- minimum of two obviously animated movie clips (with purpose)
- a logotype or identifying mark must be created for the project
In addition to the complete, working project, you should include:
- Video and test results from user-testing done at the beta stage of development (VHS videotape is acceptable, or movie files may be saved to a seperate CD, notes if you don’t have access to a videocamera)
- A written postmortem on the entire project, to include analysis of the data gleaned from the user testing and the changes that were made as a result of that testing; discussion of problems in planning and executing the project; changes that deviated from the original preproduction documents, and why those changes were made. (Turned in as HTML pages)
- A duplicate copy of all projects turned in throughout the term
Projects will be turned in on a packaged and designed CD labeled clearly with your name, the class and term. Projects shall be in complete working order, with no broken links, scripts, etcetera. All assets necessary to play the CD must be included on the CD. Projects that do not work on the instructor’s test station during the final class period, or are missing media files, casts or other elements will not be accepted for credit.
