New Directions in Digital Art (ARTS 5176, ARTS 4176)
Investigates the use of digital art in various contexts including digital narrative, web publishing, Internet art, multimedia performance, animation, conceptual art, information art, sound art, language art, and network installations.

Digital Art II (ARTS 5126, ARTS 4126)
This course explores central themes to contemporary Digital Art praxis, including: Construction of Identity, Computationally-based Artwork, Alternate-Reality Gaming, non-linear narrative.

Web Design (DM 3115)
Students who take web design at RMCAD learn simple animation — with the goal of creating animation for information-design applications, and get a thorough introduction to interface design for the web using Alan Cooper-esque metholologies. The course is taught using Adobe Flash as a tool for prototyping interface design ideas.
Design Systems (GD 3040)
is a course centered around conducting qualitative research and implementing findings in a Designer-client relationship. Students work as individuals and in teams to engage in long-term projects that address the significance of brand design, applications, and identity management. Company mission, goals, and objectives are researched, investigated, and presented in detail. Students engage real clients, and work with them in a professional relationship throughout the semester. Projects examine systems-based approaches to creating solutions for clients, seeking to create a real connection between the client company and its customer culture.
Sign and Symbol (GD 2520)
Students engaged in a semester-long exploration of meaning and a semiotics-centered construction of meaning, and developed complete identity systems using advertisements from the yellow pages as a point of departure. Major topics include anatomy of visual form, simplification, typography, sequence, composition, and basic graphic communication theory. Projects are designed to build sound conceptual thinking and practical expertise by making use of brainstorming, sketching, visual diagramming, and computer generated imagery. Projects are directed towards the understanding of signs, symbols, pictograms, logos, and logotypes.
Experience Design (GD 4020)
This integrated course fully explores the significance and impact of experience design. Moving beyond traditional graphic design concepts, this course strives to create experiences beyond products and services. Students work as individuals and in teams on multi-faceted projects that address: way-finding, environmental graphic design, information architecture, and fabrication connections and resources. Students address issues such as: product or service life cycles, user interfaces, and the creation of environments that connect on an emotional or value level to customers.

University of Denver: Digital Media / Electronic Media Arts Design

Designing Social Awareness (ARTD 3315)
This class produces multimedia team projects for local nonprofit organizations. It engages issues of social responsibility in design.
Fundamentals of Design (ARTD 2325)
This course is an introductory study of the fundamental concepts of design. The principles covered include form, structure, color theory, visual aesthetics, semiotics, organizational systems, and the relationship of text and image.
